Jet Lag Motel Kicks Off a New Chapter with New Music, New Band Members, and Live Shows

Hey everyone!

Welcome to the very first Jet Lag Motel blog!

We’re excited to finally have a place where we can share everything happening with the band, from new music and studio sessions to live shows, music videos, and life behind the scenes. We hope this blog gives you a closer look at our journey as we continue building something we’re incredibly proud of.

For those just discovering us, Jet Lag Motel began when longtime friends Brian Salmon and Steven Jasik started writing songs together simply for the love of creating music. Those songwriting sessions quickly grew into a band of 2 and eventually became our debut EP, No Vacancy, recorded in San Antonio and self produced. That first record opened doors we never expected, including signing with SSK Records and introducing our music to listeners around the world.

Our next chapter took us to Los Angeles, where we recorded our second EP, Baythorne Days, at The Kitchen Studios. It was an incredible experience working alongside Taylor Carroll, drummer for the platinum-selling rock band Lit, and producer/engineer Nathan Bankston. Their creativity, musicianship, and passion helped elevate every song on the record, and we couldn’t be more grateful to have collaborated with such an amazing team.

Another huge milestone came in May 2026, when Jet Lag Motel officially became a full band. We welcomed David Guerrero on guitar, David Brown on bass, and AJ Navarro on drums. From the very first rehearsal, the chemistry was undeniable. Each of these guys brings a unique style, incredible talent, and contagious energy that has helped shape the next evolution of Jet Lag Motel.

Now the momentum is only growing.

Our official “Baythorne Days” music video is scheduled to premiere in September, and we’re counting down the days until we can finally share it with you.

At the end of August, Nathan Bankston will be traveling to San Antonio, Texas, where we’ll head back into the studio to record three brand-new Jet Lag Motel singles. Those songs will begin releasing toward the end of September as we officially start work on our very first full-length Jet Lag Motel album. We can’t wait for everyone to hear where the music is headed next.

We’re also beyond excited to announce our first live show with the current lineup!

Jet Lag Motel will perform on September 25 at Ragnar’s in San Marcos, Texas, and we can’t think of a better way to introduce this band to the stage. We’ve been working hard to create a live show that’s energetic, emotional, and a true reflection of who we are. Ticket information will be available soon right here on http://JetLagMotel.com and across all of our social media channels.

Whether you’ve been with us since No Vacancy, found us through Baythorne Days, or you’re hearing about Jet Lag Motel for the very first time, thank you for coming along on this ride. Every stream, every message, every shared post, and every person who shows up at a concert means the world to us.

This is just the beginning.

Be sure to check back often for Jet Lag Motel news, studio updates, behind-the-scenes stories, upcoming concerts, new music releases, exclusive photos, and everything happening as we continue recording our debut full-length album.

Thanks for being part of the journey.

See you at the show!
